Greg Bartley, Managing Director
Greg Bartley, Managing Director, GWB Engineering has been working in the oil, gas and chemical industries for over 30 years.
After completing his tertiary studies in the mid 70’s Greg worked for BP Refinery for 3 years and then moved into coal construction. He then worked for the government before starting GWB Engineering in December 1992.
“I pride myself on operating with honesty and integrity and believe my business has grown due to this embedded business philosophy,” Greg explained.
“I started GWB Engineering on my own,” he remarked. “We now have over 40 staff to offer an extensive range of experience and a quality service to our clients.”
Born and bred in Brisbane, Greg is a specialist in pressure vessel and pressure piping design. He has mentored many young engineers and drafters in his business and he continues to do so.
“I enjoy supporting the local community by dedicating time and resources to charities including Special Olympics Queensland (link to their website), a charity that provides sporting opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities,” Greg commented. “I’m currently their Vice Chairman and am also the Regional Chair of the Brisbane North Region.”
Greg enjoys fishing and spending time with his family when he has time away from work!

Craig Sheather, Senior Mechanical Engineer
Craig Sheather, Senior Mechanical Engineer, GWB Engineering has been working as a mechanical engineer for over 17 years.
“I worked at the Sugar Mill and Refinery, Mackay, Queensland before returning to Brisbane to work on the design of the Ord River Sugar Mill at Kunnanurra, Western Australia in the mid 90’s,” Craig explained.
“I spent 5 years at the Bradken Foundry as a Project Engineer before commencing work at GWB Engineering in 2001,” he commented. “I now specialise in the design and project management of piping and pressure equipment related projects, working with clients to deliver their projects.”
Although Craig doesn’t have much time for leisure due to his work commitments, he enjoys spending time with his family including his wife and 3 children and his new ragdoll kitten. When not working he also enjoys relaxing with friends and lazing watching the television.
